PowerCell PC-100 Battery Module
48 V lithium-iron-phosphate module · 100 Ah
The PC-100 is a 48 V LiFePO₄ energy-storage module. These instructions cover the storage conditions, state-of-charge management and safe handling that preserve capacity and keep the module within its transport and safety limits.
Warning
Lithium battery: handle with careStore and handle at 30–60% charge. A damaged, swollen or hot module can vent or ignite, so quarantine it in a non-combustible area and keep a Class-D extinguisher to hand.
Storage conditions
| Storage temperature | 0 to +35 °C (ideal +15 to +25 °C) |
| Storage humidity | ≤ 70% RH, non-condensing |
| Storage state of charge | 40–60% (store at ~50%) |
| Top-up charge interval | Every 6 months |
| Max stack height | 4 modules |
Do and don't
- Do store at ~50% charge in a cool, dry, ventilated space.
- Do top up to 50% every six months to prevent deep discharge.
- Do keep terminals capped and the module upright.
- Don't store fully charged or fully discharged; both age the cells.
- Don't stack above four high or place anything on top.
- Don't expose to direct sun, heat sources or standing water.
Shelf life
| Condition | Shelf life | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| +15 to +25 °C, 50% SoC | 24 months | Best case; top up 6-monthly |
| +25 to +35 °C, 50% SoC | 12 months | Accelerated capacity fade |
| Below 0 °C | Not permitted | Do not charge when cold |
Handling steps
- Inspect for case damage, swelling or odour before moving, and quarantine if found.
- Confirm the terminal caps are fitted and the module is upright.
- Lift with two people or a rated aid; the module is 32 kg.
- Carry and set down level; never drop, roll or slide on the terminals.
- Transport secured against movement, at 30–50% state of charge.
