Keeping related documents up to date

When a product changes, its other documents can update to match, on your command, with a preview of every change.

When you edit a product's source of truth, the product record updates, and the product's other documents may now show older details. DataSheets Pro flags those documents so you can bring them into line when you're ready.

Spotting a document that's behind

On the product's detail page, a banner appears when documents are behind ("Product information changed: N documents still show older details"). Each affected document gets an Update button next to it.

Applying an update

  1. On the product page, click Update next to a document that's behind.
  2. Review the Update from product preview: it shows each field's current value and what it will change to. Everything else in the document stays as it is.
  3. Click Apply update. (If nothing actually differs, the button reads Mark up to date and simply clears the flag.)

Applying an update refreshes only the blocks the document already has, and it never injects new sections. Your layout, image positioning and any unique content are left untouched, and a version snapshot is saved so you can look back.

Is anything automatic?

No. Updates to related documents are always something you choose to do. There's no background process that rewrites your documents. DataSheets Pro only flags them and offers the change.
