How DataSheets Pro is organized

Workspaces, documents, products and templates: the four things everything else hangs off, and how they relate.

A little vocabulary makes everything else easier. Here are the four things you'll work with most, and where to find them in the sidebar.

Your workspace

Everything you create lives in a workspace. On the Free, Starter and Pro plans a workspace is just you. On the Team plan a workspace is shared, so everyone in it sees the same documents, products, templates and brand kits. You can rename your workspace on the Profile page.

Documents

A document (also called a data sheet) is the thing you build and export: a Product Data Sheet, an Installation Guide, a certificate, and so on. Your documents live under Documents (the Documents library at /app/sheets), where you can search, filter, sort, duplicate and remove them.

Products

A product is a reusable record of a real product's facts: its name, part numbers, description, key features and specifications. Products appear automatically in My Products as you build documents or import a spreadsheet. One product can have several documents made from it, all sharing the same facts.

Templates and brand kits

A template is a pre-set starting point. DataSheets Pro provides one for every document type; on Pro and above you can also save your own. A brand kit stores your logo, colors, fonts and company details so every document comes out on-brand.

Finding your way around

The left sidebar groups your tools. Workspace holds Dashboard, Documents and My Products. Design holds My templates and Brand kits. Account holds Profile, Preferences and Security. Organization holds Team, Billing and Audit log. New document sits at the top and Trash at the bottom.
