My shared link shows an old version
Why a shared link doesn't show your latest changes yet, and how to update it.
A shared link shows the version you published, not your work in progress, so customers never see half-finished edits. That's why your latest changes don't appear until the link is updated.
Update it now
- Open the document and wait for All changes saved.
- Go to Step 3: Review & Export. The Share panel says when you've saved changes since publishing.
- Click Update link. The link itself doesn't change.
Several documents out of date, for example after editing a brand kit? Use Update all on the Documents page.
If you've turned on automatic updates
- Changes publish about 5 minutes after you stop editing. The Share panel says within a few minutes of the time it's due, so allow a few minutes more.
- While you keep editing, the update waits, but it still publishes at least every 30 minutes.
- If the Share panel shows The last automatic update failed or Automatic updates were turned off, the reason follows. Fix it (for example, a very large image that made the document too slow to render), then click Update link or turn the switch back on.
Still seeing the old version?
- Refresh the page. Your browser may be showing a copy it loaded earlier.
- Check you're opening the right link. After Reset link, the old address no longer works; a printed QR code still opens the old address. Update the link so the QR code on the published page points at the new one.
- A document moved to Trash takes its page down within the hour; restore it to bring the page back.
