A column wasn't detected in my import
Why a column went to the wrong place, or to Specifications, and how to send it where you want.
DataSheets Pro matches columns by their header names, but it can't recognize every heading. A column it doesn't recognize isn't dropped. It's sent to Specifications, and the Match your columns card counts these at the top (N columns aren't mapped). If a column ended up somewhere you didn't intend, here's what to do.
Send it where you want
On the Match columns step, find the column in the Match your columns card and change its dropdown: a product field under Product details, a block under In your layout or Add: ‹group›, or Don't import to leave it out. Auto-matching is only a starting point. Your choice always wins. Preview: row 1 redraws as you change destinations.
Common cases
- SKU column? There's no separate SKU field. A column headed "SKU" is read as Part numbers automatically; point any other code column there yourself.
- Extra spec columns? That's what Specifications is for, so leave them there and each column heading becomes a row label. Or send them to a different block, such as a feature list or a comparison table.
- A column you don't want (an internal note, a price you don't publish)? Set it to Don't import.
- Odd header name? Rename it in your spreadsheet to a recognized name (like "Description" or "Model"), or just set the dropdown by hand.
- Several rows per product? A column can't hold an ordering table or a revision history. Put that content on a Blocks tab instead.
