Data grids, charts and comparison tables

The data-driven blocks (typed data grids, performance charts, comparison matrices and grouped tables) and the small things that make each one work.

Beyond the plain Table, several blocks are built around structured data. Here's what makes each one different.

Data grid: typed columns

The Data grid gives each column a type, which controls how its cells render:

Column typeRenders as
TextPlain text.
NumberRight-aligned tabular figures.
Pass / failA pass or fail chip.
ToleranceA tolerance value in tabular figures.
MeasurementA measured value in tabular figures.
ScoreA score in tabular figures.
MarkA centred availability glyph: ✓ standard, ○ option, — not available. Anything else stays plain text.

It's the same grid behind Certificates of Analysis, inspection reports, control plans and FAIR characteristic tables. Add columns, set each one's type, width and alignment, and turn zebra rows on or off.

Performance chart

The Performance chart draws a line chart from X,Y points you type: a response curve, a derating curve, and the like. Add the points in order, label the X and Y axes, and optionally set a maximum-limit line (a horizontal line at a Y value) to mark a threshold.

Comparison matrix

The Comparison matrix lays out feature rows across model columns. Type a ✓ or — in a cell and it renders as a yes/no mark. Flag one column as Recommended and it's highlighted so a reader's eye lands on it.

Grouped table

The Grouped table is a characteristic table where some rows are group headings (Input / Output / Environmental, …) that break the rows into labeled sections. Each column has its own left / center / right alignment, and zebra rows are optional.

Part-number decoder

The Part-number decoder breaks a part number into segments, each with its meaning, shown with a worked example so a reader can decode an ordering code at a glance.
