Sections and blocks explained
The two building units behind every document: what they are and how they nest.
Every document in DataSheets Pro is built from two units: sections and blocks. Understanding the difference makes the whole editor click.
Blocks
A block is a single element of content: a heading, a paragraph, a table, a bullet list, a product image, a specifications table, a safety warning, and so on. Blocks are what your readers actually see. There are 56 kinds; see The block library.
Sections
A section is a group of blocks: a top-level container that keeps related blocks together (for example, an "Overview" section holding a product image and a description). A section has a name you can edit, but that name is organizational only: it helps you navigate the editor and is not printed in the document.
How they appear in Step 2
In Step 2: Build the Document, sections are listed top to bottom. Each section header shows an icon, its editable name, a short summary of its contents ("Heading, Feature list +2 more"), and a number. You can collapse a section to focus, and the live preview always reflects the real, printed order.
