Document header, footer and metadata

The running header and footer: logo, header label, website link, page numbers, document fields, copyright and legal text.

The header and footer repeat at the top and bottom of every page. You edit them in Step 2, in the Document header ("Top of page") and Document Footer ("Bottom of page") panels.

Document header

The header controls follow the printed header from left to right:

  • Company logo: uploaded here, or inherited from your brand kit. A Use brand kit logo button reverts to the kit's logo.
  • Logo size: a slider (shown as a percentage) that appears when a logo is set, so vertical and horizontal logos can each be sized to fit.
  • Header label: text beside the logo (defaults to the document type).
  • Fallback wordmark: used when no logo image is set.
  • Website text and link: shown on the right of the header.

The footer panel covers everything along the bottom of the page:

  • Document fields: show or hide metadata such as document number, revision, revision date, effective date, owner, prepared-by, approved-by, part number and internal reference. Each field has a value and can be locked for governance.
  • Page numbering: choose the style: "Page 1 of 3", "1 of 3", "Page 1" or "1". It updates automatically as pages are added or removed.
  • Footer text: a footer line (falls back to your brand kit's footer text).
  • Copyright: auto-use the current year, plus the owner name (previewed as "© 2026 Acme. All rights reserved.").
  • Legal: a disclaimer shown on every page (falls back to your brand kit's legal text).
  • QR code: see Adding a QR code.
